Q:What is a timber frame building?
A: In simple terms its when we build the inner leaf from timber and insulation instead of Blockwork? The outerleaf can still be brick so it all looks the same once its finished

Q: Why build with timber instead of block?
A: Because its quicker, better insulated, easier to do, cheaper and lasts longer

Q: Why doesn't everyone build this way?
A: We don't know . . . they do in Colder countries Sweeden, Denmark etc., Scotland has 75% of newbuilds in timber frame. England only does around 35%. although that is rising every year

Q: Does it pass building regs?
A: Yes very much so it is a greener way to extend your home.

Q: Is there any other advantages?
A: As the insulation works so well it compliments SOLAR POWERED heating and other renewable energy sources

Q: Can my loft be converted?
A: Most roof's are suitable but it is true that some are more ecconomic to convert than others

Q: Is my loft too small?
A: We would suggest that at a minimum you can stand fully upright in the centre. Dormer windows and roof conversions can provide more space if required.

Q: How long does a loft conversion take?
A: The quickest we've done is 6 days the longest is 9 weeks it would normally average 5 weeks.

Q: How much does a loft conversion cost?
A: The cheapest we've done was £9,000 for a full conversion the most was £105,000 as an average we would suggest £18,000 to £20,000

Q: Will I need a Dormer Window?
A: Only if you would like one Velux roof lights are an excellent alternative

Q: What about planning permission?
A: Planning permission could be needed but we can assist

Q: Will I need to arrange Building Regulations Approval and will that be an additional cost?

Q: I have a water tank and a chimney in my loft, is that a problem?
A: We are able to remove or resite any existing structures inc. Chimney's

Q: Can I speak to other customers?
A: Yes. . We find most of our customers are happy to talk about the great new space they have

Q: I'd like a bathroom in the loft conversion, what impact does this have?
A: Bathrooms and en-suites are no problem and an excellent addition to any home

Q: How much space will I realistically achieve from a loft conversion?
A: Depending on the size of your house but a good sized room can be added to most homes

A: We're a member of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) We are also Corgi registered to undertake domestic water and gas works. We use Nappit for Electrical registration
